Down a morning traffic reporter with the departure yesterday of Katina Forte, who is set to join QVC as an on-air host, WPXI opted to poach Trisha Pittman from KDKA.
Technically she'll move from AAA, which KDKA contracts with for traffic coverage, to Metro Traffic, which WPXI contracts with for traffic coverage.
KDKA news director Al Blinke referred calls to AAA. Bevi Norris, director of public relations for AAA, said a replacement for Pittman has not been selected. She'll continue to cover traffic for AAA until Oct. 8.
Pittman will begin work at Channel 11 on Oct. 9 and will likely show up on the air Oct. 14. As Forte was, she'll be based in the WPXI studio.
Redmond hearing delayed
The private complaint hearing for WPXI anchor Gina Redmond, accused of slapping WTAE producer Roberta Petterson at a party in August, has been delayed due to a conflict with the date for Petterson's attorney. Previously scheduled for today, a new date has not yet been set.
