Forward police said William Eric Hoover drank beer and scratched off Pennsylvania Lottery tickets in a bar on Route 51 for 90 minutes while his 9-year-old daughter waited for him outside.
Mr. Hoover, whose age and hometown were not available, was charged with endangering the welfare of children and reckless endangerment. Police were summoned to Molnar's Lounge by a caller who said a young girl was left inside a vehicle parked outside while her father drank inside. Police said they found the girl outside her father's vehicle; she told them her father was inside.
There, police found Mr. Hoover at the bar, drinking beer and scratching off lottery tickets. Officers said Mr. Hoover, who was too intoxicated to legally drive, had been in the bar for more than 90 minutes. Mr. Hoover and his daughter were released to his wife.
