
MILWAUKEE -- No. 3 seed Pitt defeated No. 14 seed Oakland University, 89-66, today in an NCAA first-round game at the Bradley Center.
The Panthers will play No. 6 Xavier, which beat No. 11 seed Minnesota, 65-54, earlier today.
Pitt finished the first half on a 26-8 run to take a 39-26 lead into the locker room at halftime of today's NCAA first-round game against Oakland University at the Bradley Center.
Pitt trailed 18-3, but the Panthers scored the 12 points to take command of the game. Oakland was held without a field goal for more than seven minutes late in the half.
