A Rankin police officer responding to a call was injured after another car hit his police cruiser around 9 p.m. Wednesday on the Rankin Bridge.

The officer was transported to UPMC Presbyterian, where he was in stable condition, a county dispatch supervisor said.

County police are investigating the crash.
