Several local police departments and the Pennsylvania State Police have surrounded a house in Butler County where a man has refused to come out and has fired at least one shot, a Butler County dispatcher said.
Police were summoned to the home, located at 134 Liberty Road in Lancaster Township, after someone called police and asked them to check on the man at around 4:30 p.m. He refused to come out and fired one shot, though it's not clear if it was directed at the officers. Officers from seven local departments, including some from Beaver County, were called in to back up local police. The state police Special Emergency Response Team has also been called in and three homes have been evacuated.
The dispatcher said this is the first time police have been called to this home before. It's not known if the man is suicidal, but he is alone in the home, as far as police know.
