Interstate 79, Bridgeville -- Intermittent, short-term lane closures in both directions from 9 a.m. to noon Friday near the interchange during lighting repairs.
Route 28, Etna -- Southbound reduced to a single lane between the Highland Park Bridge and Etna interchange from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday during electrical work.
West End Bypass Routes 19/51 -- Closed in both directions between the Parkway West and West End Circle from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Wednesday nights as crews erect overhead sign structures. Detour posted.
UPDATES from Wednesday, Dec. 16
Fort Duquesne Bridge -- Lane closures on approaches to and from the Parkway North from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as crews make inspections related to North Shore Connector construction.
Interstate 79, Franklin Park, Marshall -- Reduced to one lane northbound from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. Friday from the Parkway North to Warrendale during pavement sealing.
Brief lane closures 7 a.m. to noon Saturday in the northbound right lane between the Parkway West (Exit 59) and Crafton (Exit 60); northbound left lane approaching the I-279 interchange (Exit 72); northbound right lane between Warrendale (Exit 75) and Wexford (Exit 73); and southbound left lane near the Butler County line, all for guide rail repair.
Parkway East -- Brief right lane closure 7 a.m. to noon Saturday inbound between the Squirrel Hill Tunnel and Bates Street/Glenwood/Oakland (Exit 73).
UPDATES from Tuesday, Dec. 15
SPECIAL NOTE: Mellon Arena officials are alerting motorists to expect heavy afternoon traffic near the arena Wednesday as a result of a 3 p.m. Trans Siberian Orchestra show.
More than 11,000 people are expected to attend the mid-afternoon performance. There also is an 8 p.m. performance, but rush-hour traffic should be out of town by then.
Mellon Arena officials urge concert-goers to use public transportation to get Downtown for the 3 p.m. show.
For show attendees who choose to drive into the city, there will be a significant number of parking spaces held in the Mellon Arena lots for the afternoon performance.
Once arena lots are full, patrons will be directed to other lots Downtown, including the Duquesne University/A.J. Palumbo Center garage at 600 Forbes Ave. and the Grant Street Transportation Center, 55 11th St.
Fort Pitt Tunnel -- Traffic to be stopped for 15 to 20 minutes at the outbound tunnel entrance at 10 a.m. Wednesday, weather permitting, to allow crews to remove an excavator from the hillside near the tunnel entrance.
Steubenville Pike, Robinson -- Northbound traffic at the Parkway West stopped for about 10 minutes at 11 a.m. Wednesday and southbound for about 10 minutes at 11 a.m. Friday during placement of traffic signal poles.
UPDATES from Monday, Dec. 14
Interstate 70, South Strabane -- New traffic pattern in effect at bridge over Zedicker Station Road. One eastbound lane moves to westbound side before bridge and re-merges after crossing. Pattern in effect till completion of bridge replacement in October.
Lincoln Way, White Oak -- Short-term lane closures and alternating single-lane traffic possible 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays starting Tuesday through Dec. 31 for subsurface testing in advance of future improvement project.
Westinghouse Bridge, North Versailles -- Eastbound reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily through Friday during repair of pylons.
Allegheny County
Blythedale Road, Elizabeth Township -- Reduced to alternating single-lane traffic because of collapse of the northbound lane between Shaler Street and Fallen Timber Road.
Business Route 22, Churchill -- Single-lane traffic westbound in the area under the Parkway East near the inbound on-ramp through 5 a.m. Monday during bridge improvements.
Butler Street, Liberty Avenue, Lawrenceville -- Single-lane closures possible 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights through Saturday at 40th and Butler streets; Butler Street and Penn Avenue; and Liberty Avenue and Ligonier Street during installation of new traffic signal support foundations.
Cochrans Mill Road, Jefferson Hills -- Closed between Stilley Road and West Bruceton Road until Feb. 1 for bridge replacement. Detour posted.
Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills -- Lane closures possible at times from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday on bridge over railroad tracks between Arbor Lane and Old Curry Hollow Road.
Dorrington Road, Collier -- Bridge closed over Robinson Run between Cluxton Street and Noblestown Road around the clock through April 2010. Road open to local traffic only.
Fort Duquesne Bridge, Downtown -- On-ramp to the northbound Fort Duquesne Bridge from Fort Duquesne Boulevard closed around the clock through Dec. 21. Posted detour via 10th Street Bypass, Commonwealth Place, Fort Pitt Boulevard.
Off-ramp from inbound lower deck to 10th Street Bypass (Exit 1A) closed on 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for lighting repairs. Signs posted to guide motorists around the closure.
Graham Road, Pine -- Closed between Pearce Mill Road and English Road until summer 2012 during replacement of a Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge.
Interstate 79, Marshall -- Southbound reduced to one lane in area of bridge over Pennsylvania Turnpike from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights. Southbound reduced to one lane near Wexford interchange 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday
Interstate 79, Neville -- Inspection activities on bridge over Ohio River to cause lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Dec. 29. No weekend or holiday restrictions.
Jefferson Heights Road, Penn Hills -- Bridge over Parkway East closed through end of year for rehabilitation. Detour posted.
Liberty Tunnels -- Inbound tunnel closed for major rehabilitation Sundays through Thursdays from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through late August 2010.
Light Rail Transit -- Gateway Center closed through 2011.
Old State Road, Pine -- Closed between Whippoorwill Hill Road and Fox Hollow Lane for replacement of a Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge through mid-summer 2012. Detour posted.
Parkway East -- Single lane closures possible from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday-Thursday nights in both directions from the Squirrel Hill Tunnels to approximately 1.5 miles west of the tunnels and crews will continue work on the overheight detection system for the tunnels.
Single lane closure in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in the area of the bridge that carries Jefferson Heights Road over the Parkway East between the Penn Hills and Plum interchanges.
Intermittent single- and double-lane closures in both directions from Downtown Pittsburgh to the Pennsylvania Turnpike from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday nights through Dec. 24 for sign installation.
Parkway North, North Side -- Outbound left lane closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday between Anderson Street and Mazeroski Way during bridge inspection.
Rankin Bridge -- Single-lane traffic continues in each direction through October. Sidewalk on main span closed for reconstruction. Port Authority has free-ride zone between Rankin and Whitaker for pedestrians for the duration of construction.
Route 65, North Side -- Intermittent, short-term lane closures in both directions between the Fort Duquesne and West End bridges from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays through the morning of Dec. 24 during sign installation.
Route 88, Castle Shannon -- Lane closures and alternating single-lane traffic weeknights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Castle Shannon Boulevard to Sixth/Killarney streets through late February. Minor daylight restrictions also possible.
Tri-Boro Expressway -- Expressway/Braddock Avenue closed in both directions from O'Connell Boulevard to Cable Avenue for bridge replacement. Also, East Pittsburgh-McKeesport Boulevard closed from Elder Street to the Tri-Boro Expressway. Main Street under the bridge closed from Braddock Avenue to Bessemer Avenue, all until late this year.
West End Bridge -- Traffic from West End Circle to bridge reduced to one lane through 3 p.m. Friday as crews remove temporary barrier and concrete to install new concrete barrier. Electrical work will also occur. Lane and sidewalk closures possible from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 29 during inspection.
Armstrong County
Route 422, East Franklin -- Long-term lane closures planned through September during rehabilitation of two bridges over Route 28.
Butler County
Hartmann Road/Harmony Junction Bridge, Jackson -- Closed for reconstruction expected to continue until June. Detour via Routes 68 and 19 and Little Creek and Seneca School roads.
Interstate 79, Butler County -- One lane closed northbound at mile 82.2 in Jackson from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday as crews place large rocks in the streambed area to prevent bridge scour.
Indiana County
Smicksburg Bridge, Smicksburg and West Mahoning -- Replacement project reduces Route 954 to one-way alternating traffic until May.
Washington County
Charleroi-Monessen Bridge -- Closed after inspection revealed structural deficiencies.
Donora-Webster Bridge -- Closed until further notice.
Westmoreland County
Route 22, New Alexandria -- Traffic switched to westbound side with one lane open in each direction in work zones from Carter Road to Indiana County line.
Route 30, Hempfield/North Huntingdon -- Restricted to one lane in each direction between Arona Road and West Penn Drive/Possum Hollow Road during nighttime work.
