Submit your WVU football question

Thanks much for your participation in the West Virginia football Q&A.

It is your job to ask the questions; my job to answer them -- so keep them rolling in. I will answer them as I get them each day throughout the season and through whatever bowl game the Mountaineers go to, as well as through signing day in February. Please remember to include your last name in submissions.

You can follow the Mountaineers daily here and at 'Eers to the Ground, a blog devoted to West Virginia football.

Also, take time each week to find your way into my live chat, it is each Thursday at 2 p.m.

Q: Interesting story on the Western Pa recruiting. How serious of a problem do you think this is? My sense is that while Pitt has done better here recently, WVU has not been shut out or taking seconds. Plenty of good Western Pa FB players are still taking visits and some have still accepted offers when the playing opportunities fit. Also, WVU's recruiting has moved into areas where the new coaches have contacts and relationships. Improved recruiting results in Virginia, Florida, Maryland and Georgia can compensate for the drop off in PA and NJ... Do you think a few more wins in close games(like last Friday)will help as well? WVU has alot to offer Western Pa recruits. Great school, close proximity and excellent facilities. Recruiting seems to be a strong point for this staff. The tide should turn given time. Thoughts please.

DUNLAP: It isn't very serious at this point, but, if you are West Virginia, you can't go two or three years without getting a kid from Western Pennsylvania. One year is fine, maybe two years is fine, but the lines of communication cannot diminish totally or there could be some trouble. I will say this: West Virginia's recruiting has improved, greatly, to the South and over in Virginia, and they need to continue to pluck kids from over there. There has been an x-factor in Western Pennsylvania, as well. If you really look at, Ohio State has been coming in and getting the very best kids, so West Virginia has not necessarily been losing the most highly-rated kids to Pitt. That said, they have been losing some (see: Saddler and Hale) but have won also (see: Will Clarke, Don Barclay).

In goes in cycles, and while this recruiting class for West Virginia will not have a WPIAL or City League kid, I would venture a guess it won't be something that will become commonplace.
