Classes were to resume today for nearly 500 students at Wilkins Elementary School in Churchill, which was closed yesterday because of a broken water line.
School officials said school drivers carrying Wilkins Elementary students were ordered to turn around.
The school houses 490 students from kindergarten to sixth grade.
The break was noticed in the 8-inch line around 7 a.m. yesterday.
Anthony Russo, director of the Wilkinsburg-Penn Joint Water Authority, said repairs should be completed by yesterday afternoon.
Schools' spokeswoman Maria McCool said classes would resume today for students at Wilkins Elementary.
