Vandals cause damage at Mayview Hospital site
Thursday, November 19, 2009

Groundskeepers at the former Mayview State Hospital on Mayview Road in South Fayette reported Nov. 6 that about 50 windows worth about $5,000 had been shattered on the vacant building.

Vandals also tore down some plywood that had been sealing up many of the previously broken windows.

The state closed the hospital at the end of last year. A task force is exploring the best use of the 335-acre site on Chartiers Creek.
