McKees Rocks Bridge closed this weekend
Tuesday, November 17, 2009

The McKees Rocks Bridge will be closed in both directions from midnight Friday through 6 a.m. Monday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

The posted detour is via the West End Bridge.

The bridge has had lane restrictions and partial closures for much of the construction season as it undergoes a $6.8 million rehabilitation that includes a refurbished concrete deck and new sidewalk.

The bridge will reopen without restrictions Monday, but there may be some short-term single-lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for minor work to complete the project, PennDOT spokesman Jim Struzzi said. The work will be completed in mid-December.
