Pine allocates funding for Wexford Volunteer Fire Co.
Tuesday, November 17, 2009

The Wexford Volunteer Fire Co. has received a $407,000-a-year funding commitment from Pine.

Township supervisors last night voted unanimously to adopt an ordinance allocating $187,000 for the fire company's operational expenses and as much as $220,000 for capital expenses annually starting next.

The Wexford Volunteer Fire Co. has provided fire protection services to the township since its founding in 1921.

Supervisors also gave tentative approval to a 69-lot planned residential development on 141 acres near Pine-Richland Middle School.

Meritage Group L.P. plans to develop the land along Logan Road and has agreed to dedicate 65 acres to the township for its park system.
