Freshman Charlie Leventry kicked a 31-yard field goal as time expired to give Duquesne (3-7, 2-5) a 45-42 victory against host Sacred Heart (2-8, 2-6).
Leventry, a punter, was filling in for Duquesne's starting kicker, who was out with an illness.
Dukes running back Larry McCoy had 121 yards rushing and scored five touchdowns.
The Northeast Conference foes combined to score 45 points in the fourth quarter and 24 points in the last four minutes.
Duquesne led, 21-7, at halftime, but Sacred Heart scored two third-quarter touchdowns to tie the score.
The teams traded three touchdowns apiece, capped by Sacred Heart quarterback Dale Fink's sixth touchdown pass of the game. That tied the score, 42-42, with 1:10 remaining.
That set up Duquesne's winning drive, capped by Leventry's last-second field goal.
Robert Morris 37, Wagner 10: Jeff Sinclair threw three touchdowns to lead the Colonials (4-5, 4-3) to an NEC victory against Wagner (6-4, 5-2). Robert Morris running back Myles Russ had 177 yards rushing on 19 carries in the home win.
Bryant 35, Saint Francis 12: A muddy field wreaked havoc on the Presidents' Athletic Conference showdown, but it could not stop Bryant running back Jerrell Smith. Smith had 239 yards rushing and three touchdowns in a game that featured 12 fumbles between Bryant (4-6, 3-4) and Saint Francis (2-8, 1-6).
Washington & Jefferson 35, Waynesburg 12: Jordan Roycroft caught two of Gino Rometo's three touchdown passes to lead W&J (9-1, 5-1) to victory against the Yellow Jackets (5-5, 2-4) in a PAC game. In the loss, Waynesburg quarterback Brad Dawson set a school record for most passing yards in a season.
Westminster 31, Geneva 28: Shawn Lehocky's 1-yard touchdown run with 11 seconds remaining gave the Titans (4-6) a victory against the Golden Tornadoes (7-3) in the 112th meeting between the two schools.
Officials flagged Geneva three times for pass interference on Westminster's final drive.
Grove City 31, Thiel 24 (2 OT): Down, 17-0, in the fourth quarter, the Wolverines (5-5, 4-2) rallied to beat the host Tomcats (3-7, 1-5) in a PAC rivalry game. Grove City's Andrew DiDonato accounted for four touchdowns -- two rushing and two passing.
Bethany 34, Saint Vincent 13: The Bearcats intercepted Bison quarterback Dan Pegg four times, but he threw three touchdowns as Bethany (3-7) beat host Saint Vincent (0-10).
Chicago 24, Carnegie Mellon 7: Quarterback Marshall Oium and receiver Dee Brizzolara connected three times to beat the visiting Tartans in a University Athletic Association game.
Edinboro 31, East Stroudsburg 16: Trevor Harris completed 71.8 percent (28 of 39) of his passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns to give the Fighting Scots (9-3) a first-round playoff win.
