Electronic waste and other hard-to-recycle items will be collected from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Saturday in the parking lot at the Mall at Robinson. Sponsored by the Allegheny County Health Department and the Pennsylvania Resources Council, the event will have electronic items refurbished or recycled in a manner that protects public health and the environment.
A fee will be charged for these items: tire with no rim, $2; TVs 19 inches and under, $10; TVs 20 to 29 inches, $20; TVs 30 to 39 inches, $25; TVs 40 inches or console, $35; CPU or laptop, $5; monitor, $10; combination personal computer/monitor/keyboard, $15; printer/scanner/fax/small ups, $5; VHS/DVD/phone/router, $2.
No fee will be charged for cell phones, ink and toner cartridges, compact fluorescent light bulbs, alkaline batteries, crutches, canes and walkers.
