Q: The Steelers gave up their 6th TD (one in each of the last six games) to an opponent while the defense was not on the field - two interceptions, two kick-off returns, fumble take away on punt and a fumble on a sack. Is this some kind of an NFL record, or at least a Steelers record? Are records kept on this type of futility?

Bruce S. Ludlow, Langhorne, Pa.

BOUCHETTE: Opponents had six returns for TDs for the entire 2006 season (8-8 record) and also had six in 2002 (10-5-1), six in 1999 (6-10). they had 8 in 1993 (9-7) and 7 in 1986 (6-10).

Others: 6 in 1985 (7-9) and 6 in 1969 (1-13). That's as far back as I went. So, over the past 40 years, the most is eight, making this team well within reach of topping that.
