Cranberry approves grocery store
Friday, November 06, 2009

Cranberry Supervisors last night gave the go-ahead to plans for a new grocery along Freedom Road.

The Shop 'N Save is being developed by Sorbara & Sons of Bridgeville.

Some neighbors initially had opposed plans for the 64,723-square-foot store in the Freedom Square development, but no one spoke against the project last night.

At a public hearing a week earlier, representatives of the developer allayed some of the concerns by saying that the store's elevation will be lower than some neighbors had feared and less light will be emitted. Also, more of a landscape buffer will be planted.
