Police say woman stabbed by ex-roommate in Sharpsburg
Wednesday, November 04, 2009

A woman was seriously wounded early yesterday during a fight with her estranged roommate, police said.

Deloris Johnson, 28, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian after she was found by Sharpsburg firefighters at about 1:30 a.m.

She was screaming in pain, lying on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of Main Street. She had been stabbed in the back and the arm, police Chief Leo Rudzki said.

Ms. Johnson told police she had been attacked by her estranged roommate, Tiffany Pearson, 34, of Lawrenceville.

The two women argued before Ms. Johnson was stabbed.

Firefighters had just extinguished a kitchen fire and were returning to the firehouse when they spotted Ms. Johnson.

After Ms. Johnson identified her assailant, Ms. Pearson was arrested by Officer Brian Hobbel.

The suspect was awaiting arraignment on charges that include aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
