A man in the city's Brighton Heights section was shot this morning.

Dispatchers said the shooting occurred in the 1200 block of Benton Avenue around 11:30 a.m. The man was shot in the back and taken to a hospital.

Police examined a car on the street that they believe was being used by the victim. Before he was taken away, the man told police he did not see who shot him.
