The Caring Heights Community Care and Rehabilitation Center in Kennedy has been penalized with a provisional license by state regulators who faulted it for medication problems on an August inspection.
A health department inspection report dated Aug. 20 found that 28 patients had not received their prescribed medications. Among the more serious cases, several residents did not receive medications that treat blood clotting, congestive heart failure or bacterial infections.
A written response from Caring Heights to the state said it had revised its pharmacy supply operation to ensure all needed medications would be on hand subsequently.
The health department placed the 120-bed facility, formerly known as Sycamore Creek Nursing Center, on the provisional license through Feb. 20. No fine or additional penalty was assessed.
