Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

2 stars = Mediocre
Ratings explained

Scrat is still trying to nab the ever-elusive nut, Manny and Ellie await the birth of their mini-mammoth, Sid the sloth gets into trouble when he hijacks some dinosaur eggs, and Diego the saber-toothed tiger wonders if he's getting too soft by hanging with his pals. This is the third movie in the series and in addition to revisiting the Ice Age, it introduces a land of dinosaurs below with a new cast of characters and voices. The DVD includes commentary from director Carlos Saldanha, a featurette on the design and two Scrat shorts.

Whatever Works

2 1/2 stars = Average
Ratings explained

This is light Woody Allen about a crotchety genius (Larry David) who improbably opens his New York apartment to a Southern runaway (Evan Rachel Wood) and, even harder to believe, marries her. When her divorced parents come looking for her, their lives are turned upside down, too.

• TV on DVD: "Adult Swim: In a Box"; "The Fugitive: Season Three, Volume One"; "Mannix: The Third Season."
