COMMUNITY FORUM

Cranberry -- Cranberry Area Chamber of Commerce, 2525 Rochester Road, will be host to a series of programs, "Perspectives." The first, "Health Care Policy Today & Its Impact on You and Your Business," will be presented Nov. 6. DINING OUT

Butler -- The A.M. and P.M. Rotary clubs of Butler will hold a pancake festival from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Vagabond Community Center, 1 Lyn Mar Plaza. Tickets are $6 in advance, $7 at the door. Call 1-800-225-1010.

Richland -- Bakerstown United Methodist Church, 5760 William Flynn Highway, will hold a fall salad smorgasbord from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Nov 13. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12 years old.

Shaler -- A pancake breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at 1810 Mount Royal Blvd., sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Glenshaw. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children under 12. Proceeds will support the club's service programs in the Shaler area.

Butler -- Butler County Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Elisabeth Heath-Charles, will present Amber Waves at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Butler Intermediate High School, 551 Fairground Hill Road. Pine -- Greater Harmony Chorus will present WGHC Harmony Radio at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Pine-Richland Middle School, 100 Logan Road. Five finalists from summer auditions will compete for the title of Pittsburgh's Most Talented Teen. Grand prize is a $500 scholarship. Sewickley -- Not Quite Pittsburgh Juggling Festival will be held at Quaker Valley Middle School, 201 Graham St. Free general juggling activities will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 13. A juggling show will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 and costs $2 per person.

Areawide -- The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania is taking applications for its annual $5,000 scholarship for aspiring journalists. Application deadline is Jan. 15, 2010; winner will be notified by April 15. For more information, see www.westernpapressclub.org.

Ohio Township -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will preach at Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, at 9 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday. He will be available to sign pre-release copies of his book "A Simple Christmas; 12 Stories that Celebrate the True Holiday Spirit."

Butler -- Meteorologist Richard Kane, of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, will present a program during the Butler Outdoor Club's annual dinner Nov. 14 at Highfield Community Center. Silent auction runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Chicken dinner starts at 7 p.m. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and outdoor store and club displays. Evans City -- The Frontier Living History Center at Providence Plantation Foundation, 300 Textor Hill Road, will present "Washington's First Mission" from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 7. Richland -- Applications are being taken for the 2010 Miss Butler County USA pageant, to be held Dec. 13 at Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road. Winner will be eligible to participate in the Miss Pennsylvania USA pageant.
