WPIAL soccer playoffs: Shaler rallies for overtime victory
Hamilton's 2 goals lead Titans past Central Catholic
Wednesday, October 28, 2009

After seeing a promising regular season end in a severe tailspin, Shaler appeared headed to quick elimination from the WPIAL boys' soccer playoffs.

Instead, the Titans are flying high again.

Steve Hamilton scored twice, including the winner five minutes into overtime, to lift Shaler to a 2-1 win against Central Catholic in a WPIAL Class AAA first-round game at Pine-Richland last night.

The Titans (9-5-3), winners of just one of their previous seven games, trailed the Vikings (13-3-2), 1-0, before Hamilton netted the equalizer with 40 seconds left in regulation and then the winner off a corner kick in overtime.
