Baroque Society hires director
Wednesday, October 28, 2009

The Renaissance & Baroque Society of Pittsburgh has hired Gail Luley as managing director, but Pittsburgh Camerata fans needn't worry. That's because Luley will remain in the same position with the choir as well as serving as director of music of Sixth Presbyterian Church.

"I have three jobs that make up one big one," said Luley, who has been with the Camerata for 10 years. "I am excited to work for Renaissance & Baroque. It is a great organization with an impressive history of presenting fabulous early music groups in concert." Previously the R&B functioned with an executive director.

"They have a magnificent board that does a lot of the work on the programming, development and marketing end, so I am going to be supporting that by working on the business side." Luley said the Camerata and R&B hope will look to collaborate in the future.
