Driver injured after car strikes utility pole, house

Emergency workers had to remove a driver from a vehicle after it crashed into a utility pole along Wendel Road in Hempfield Township last night, knocking down wires.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital.

State police in Greensburg said the vehicle ended up on the porch of a home. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
