West Virginia junior running back Noel Devine and freshman receiver/returner Tavon Austin were lauded by the Big East Conference today for their performances in a 28-24 win over Connecticut on Saturday.
Devine earned the conference offensive player of the week award, as he rushed for 178 yards -- 171 in the second half -- on 23 carries, including a game-winning 56-yard touchdown with 2:10 left.
Austin, one of just a handful of true freshmen who play for the Mountaineers, was named Big East special teams player of the week. He returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a score.
