Botanic Garden of Western Pennsylvania hosts benefit
Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Because the mission of the Botanic Garden of Western Pennsylvania is a green one in the truest sense of the word, Green Gears pedi-cabs pedaled more than 200 guests from the parking lot to Jay Verno Studios for "A Taste of the Gardens" benefit on Friday. A new space (and a new time of year!) made it necessary to re-create gardens indoors, a clever feat accomplished in conjunction with Tallulah caterers and volunteers such as Tristan Stayduhar and Craig McDonald. They created dining stations that matched the different gardens planned for the future -- Asian, vegetable, Eastern European woods, aquatic and, best of all, the children's table with candy to go! Board chair Matt Sanfilippo welcomed guests after cocktails and a peek at the silent auction. BNY Mellon was the evening's primary sponsor.
