Pittsburgh celebrities packed both sides of the stage on Thursday when Off the Record IX: "High School Confidential!" entertained more than 800 people at the Byham Theater. A joint production of AFTRA and the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh/CWA, the benefit raised more than $30,000 for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and other charities.
Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Pittsburgh Public Schools superintendent Mark Roosevelt were guest humorists, providing a "pre-buttal" before they were lampooned by Michael Fuller and Chuck Aber as their onstage counterparts. Because everything really is off the record, we can't tell you what shocking things were said (or by whom, Mr. Ravenstahl), but the musical satire of local news and newsmakers was the best yet.
