A protection-from-abuse hearing was postponed today for professional wrestler Kurt Angle because family court was overbooked.
Still, Mr. Angle's lawyer and attorneys for his ex-girlfriend, Trenesha Biggers, negotiated for some time this morning without reaching an amicable resolution.
She said he has displayed a pattern of physical abuse against her, leaving bruises and bite marks, over the past several months.
He said she made up the abuse story that forced him to vacate his home in Moon, where Ms. Biggers had established her residency over the past several months.
Today Mr. Angle learned he was allowed to return home.
Ms. Biggers said she never returned to the residence after Aug. 15 when she obtained the PFA.
She and her attorney, Todd Elliott, said Mr. Angle was incorrect when he claimed he was forced to leave his home because Ms. Biggers has been staying at a hotel over the past 11 days.
Mr. Angle, 40, was arrested after 7 a.m. Aug. 15 in Robinson on charges that he violated terms of the PFA that Ms. Biggers obtained 90 minutes earlier.
When he was stopped, police noticed on the front seat of his car a syringe and a container of the human growth hormone Hygetropin.
He also was charged with driving on a suspended license which was taken after a DUI stop last year. Although he was acquitted of the drunken driving charges, his license was taken because he had refused a breath test at the time.
A preliminary hearing on the criminal charges is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 15 before District Judge Carla Swearingen.
The hearing on the PFA has been continued until Sept. 29.
