Bethel Park High School student Thomas Phillips received two awards from the Bethel Park High School German Club.

Thomas received the Dietrich Award of Academic Excellence, which is given annually to the top German student at the high school. He also received a certificate of recognition as the most outstanding member of the Bethel Park High School Chapter of the Delta Epsilon Phi German National Honor Society.

Thomas is an advanced placement German IV student and serves as the German Club's Webmaster. His German teacher is Christopher Tobias.

• Bethel Park High School students Hannah Steimer and Shannon Coyle were winners in the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh's Arts and Writing Competition. Hannah earned second place in the Visual Arts Senior Division for her painting; Shannon was awarded third place in the Creative Writing Senior Division for her short story.
