Daniel J. Langa, who grew up in Butler, was among four men Bishop David A. Zubik ordained to the priesthood in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh Saturday in St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood.

The Rev. Langa, 26, was a member of St. Paul Parish in Butler. He graduated from Duquesne University, St. Paul Seminary and St. Vincent Seminary.

Rev. Langa graduated from Slippery Rock High School. In the fall of 2001, he was accepted into the priestly formation program and began studies at St. Paul Seminary and Duquesne. He graduated from Duquesne in May 2005 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and entered St. Vincent Seminary in the fall of 2005. The Rev. Langa received pastoral experience at St. Benedict the Moor Parish, Hill District, and Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Hopewell.

He is the son of David and Julia Ann Langa, and has one sister, Jennifer.

Also ordained were John F. Naugle, of the Sheraden section of Pittsburgh; Nicholas S. Vaskov, of Monroeville; and Michael A. Zavage, of Carmichaels, Greene County.
