An afternoon fire yesterday gutted a bar and several apartments above it in Arnold, emergency dispatchers said.
The fire was reported at 12:45 p.m. at Dave's Bar at the corner of Leishman Avenue and Drey Street in the city.
The business was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and flames spread to several apartments on the second and third floors of the structure.
Firefighters still were at the scene two hours later, overhauling the interior in search of any lingering fire, dispatchers.
No injuries were reported yesterday, and the cause is under investigation.
No damage estimate was available yesterday.
