State police said charges will be filed tomorrow against a Carmichaels man who fled the scene after he drove his 2001 Chevrolet Blazer into three youngsters on two bicycles shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Browns Ferry Road and Liberty Street in Cumberland, Greene County.
Witnesses said two boys and a girl were on the side of the road when the sport utility vehicle drifted off the road and struck them, then drove away. The children were taken to a hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. Their names and conditions were not released.
Troopers said they arrested Stephen Dodson four miles from the intersection. Charges of hit-and-run and drunken driving are expected to be filed tomorrow.
