Bethel Park school board members voted 6-0 last night to approve a 2009-2010 general fund budget of $70,069,162. This represents a 0.55 mill rise in property taxes; the current millage is 23.180.
A residence assessed at $200,000, for example, would be subject to an extra $110 next year.
At last month's board meeting, a proposed millage increase of 0.75 had been projected.
"That was one of the reason we withdrew [voting on the budget] at the last meeting, so we could see where more cuts could be made," board president Donna Cook said.
