The Parkway West will be closed in Robinson and Collier for five weekends in April and May for patching and resurfacing, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.
The inbound side from Interstate 79 to the Settlers Cabin interchange will be closed on the weekends of April 3, 17 and 24; the outbound side will be closed the weekends of May 1 and 8. No work or restrictions are scheduled for the Easter weekend.
The closings will begin at 10 p.m. or midnight on Fridays and continue to 5 a.m. Mondays. Traffic will be detoured via Route 60 and I-79.
The work is part of the $67.5 million I-79/Parkway West "missing ramps" project. In addition to the two new ramps that opened to traffic in November, the Parkway West is being widened to three lanes from the Campbells Run Road interchange to I-79, an approximate length of 1.6 miles. Upon completion of the project in late June, there will be three lanes of traffic in both directions through the interchange.
