Q: This year we saw the importance of having a quality second-string QB that can come in and win the game. With the most-likely departure of Byron Leftwich, I can't help but wonder if Charlie Batch will still be an effective back-up. He is getting older and has sustained many injuries. Do you think Batch can do the job? And, how do you think Dennis Dixon is coming along?

Dan Gianoutsos, Las Vegas, Nev.

BOUCHETTE: Leftwich loved it here, but he wants a chance to start and I think he'll take it somewhere. They will re-sign Batch. Dixon, they hope, can eventually be No. 2.
