• What: Buckwheat and Pancake Supper at the Ohiopyle-Stewart Volunteer Fire Department, corner of Sherman and Lincoln streets.

• When: Today and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• How far: 70 miles from Downtown Pittsburgh.

• Why: All the pancakes you can eat, plus whole-hog sausage, home-fried potatoes, applesauce and pickles. Proceeds benefit the fire department.

• How much: $8 adults, $4 for kids 3 to 12, plus gas.

• Fun Factor: 10 if you work up an appetite on any of the hiking trails in Ohiopyle State Park, ride a bike on the Great Allegheny Passage or just drink in the fall foliage, which is already sprouting some good color.
