Games and story lines to watch this weekend in WPIAL and City League football
Friday, October 10, 2008

Fox Chapel (4-2, 2-0) at Woodland Hills (2-4, 1-1), 7 p.m. today, Wolvarena, Turtle Creek: A group of Fox Chapel male athletes are in a big game in the fall -- and it isn't a soccer match. In order to defeat the Wolverines, the Foxes better find a way to control the line of scrimmage and stop RB Dom Timbers.

Hopewell (4-2, 1-2) at West Allegheny (5-1, 3-1), 7:30 p.m. today, Joe P. DiMichela Stadium: The Indians' only slipup this season came against New Castle, while Hopewell has fallen two consecutive times in Class AAA Parkway Conference play. Vikings QB Tyler George holds the key to his team pulling the upset.

Valley (5-1, 5-1) at Shady Side Academy (6-0, 6-0), 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, McKelvey Field: There isn't a more picturesque setting than an autumn afternoon game at Shady Side -- it is straight out of a painting. Don't get caught up in all of that; this one will be as hard-hitting as any game in Class AA all season.
