The Rohrich Automotive Group is moving up in a big way -- adding the Bentley line of super luxury automobiles to its roster.
Already, Rohrich handles the Lexus, Cadillac, Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen and Mazda lines. Rohrich purchased the Bentley franchise that belonged to Ascot Motor Cars of Sewickley, and late this summer opened the Bentley dealership in the same building that houses the Cadillac dealer on Liberty Avenue in Dormont.
But the dealership is not relying on only Pittsburghers.
"We are not just selling and servicing Pittsburgh, but we are the only Bentley dealership in the state of Pennsylvania," said Marc Rosenstein, sales manager. "In today's world, with the Internet, people can shop anywhere and buy cars everywhere, even if they are miles and miles away. We've already sold cars in Florida, Texas and elsewhere."
The dealership has an inventory of about 14 Bentleys, although customized models can be ordered for delivery in about five months. The dealer's goal is to sell 50 Bentleys a year.
Rohrich decided to purchase the Bentley franchise because it thought it would round out their luxury car portfolio with a car at the pinnacle of the super luxury class.
"We are basically a luxury automotive division to start with, and we thought this would give us a great addition in the luxury car market. Also, we already know how to service people who own luxury automobiles," Mr. Rosenstein said.
The Bentley that's likely to get the most attention at the showroom this year is the all-new, all-wheel-drive, 2009 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed, which many car writers say is the world's fastest sedan.
Prices for the Continental Flying Spur Speed are about $10,000 to $15,000 over the roughly $200,000 price tag for a conventional Flying Spur.
