A Greater Latrobe Senior High School teacher has been named state teacher of the year.

The announcement about Rebecca Snyder, who teaches 11th-grade English as well as film media in 10th, 11th and 12th grades, was made today.

Ms. Snyder, who was among 12 finalists, will compete in the national teacher of the year program. The national winner will be named in April.
