
What to do: Admire the derring-do of runaway slaves and Quaker abolitionists during the Underground Railroad Tour in Quaker Valley, Adams County. When Confederates invaded in 1863, African American families found refuge at Yellow Hill. Visitors also learn about Quakers William and Phebe Wright who helped 1,000 people to freedom. The tours are centered around Yellow Hill Cemetery and Church lot.
