STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Penguins right winger Petr Sykora will not play in the team's season opener tonight against Ottawa and probably will miss tomorrow's rematch at the Globe Arena, too, coach Michel Therrien said.
Sykora returned to practice at midweek after missing five days because of a respiratory illness, but he is now out with a groin injury.
At the morning skate, Tyler Kennedy, who had been playing at center during training camp, moved up to replace Sykora on the right side with center Evgeni Malkin and left winger Jordan Staal.
On defense, rookie Alex Goligoski is expected to be scratched from the lineup in favor of veteran Darryl Sydor.
