State police were seeking two men who ran away Wednesday night after leading them on a highway chase and trying to ram their cars in Beaver County.
Troopers have charged one of the men, Anthony Ali Drew Dorsett, 31, of Aliquippa, with attempted aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude police, causing or risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and traffic violations.
The charges stem from a chase that began on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when a trooper tried to stop Mr. Dorsett for speeding, state police said. Mr. Dorsett, who was driving an SUV, drove away, setting off a chase that led from the turnpike to Routes 60, 551 and 18 and into Beaver Falls, troopers said.
After driving into a yard on College Avenue, troopers said, Mr. Dorsett and his passenger, Robert N. Jones, 35, jumped out of the moving car and ran away, allowing the car to crash into two parked cars.
State police said Mr. Dorsett is not the son of former University of Pittsburgh and NFL star running back Tony Dorsett, a Beaver County native. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-773-7400.
