I was so excited to see that tomato and peanut butter sandwiches are favorites with other people! [Food & Flavor, Sept. 18] My mom used to make those all the time, and as the years went by, so did I.

However, I got so used to the "ews" and "yucks" whenever I mentioned this combination that I kept it my little secret. Glad to know others appreciate this sandwich. Somehow, I feel redeemed.

The Magical Honey Cake recipe [On the Go & Arts, Sept. 21] looks, well, magical but too much for my small family.

Any direction for cutting down to a third?
