Police arrested a 17-year-old yesterday on charges of arson, reckless endangerment and vandalism for setting fire to a trash can at Hempfield High School.

Officials evacuated the school, which was not damaged in the fire that was reported at 9:08 a.m. No injuries were reported. The youth was being detained at the Westmoreland County Juvenile Detention Center.
