The CCAC Educational Foundation won a $403,000 Nursing Education Grant from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Foundation to aid needy second-year nursing students through scholarships in the 2008-2009 academic year. CCAC's nursing programs include a student population of 59 percent full-time and 41 percent part-time students.
The Dominion Foundation has given $3,400 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Wishmaker amount, $3,400, is the average cost of a wish and is derived from the cost of the organization's most popular wish, a one-week trip to Disney World for a family of four.
