Celebrities in Denver; Leoni to skip Toronto Fest; Jerry Lewis raises record amount
Wednesday, September 03, 2008

Did you miss us?

Well, we're back.

We spent last week hanging out at the DNC in Denver.

Cicely Tyson saw us there.

We were in line behind her buying some souvenirs. She seemed like she didn't want to be bothered so we just admired the acting legend from afar.

We also saw Rosario Dawson and Eva Longoria at the women's caucus and actress Erika Alexander outside the Grand Hyatt.

We didn't get to lay eyes on Wyclef Jean, but heard from someone who was there that his show was awesome.

Anytime the performer ends up on the roof, it's got to be off the hook.

We don't know if Tea Leoni was at the DNC, but one place she won't be, reports People, is the Toronto International Film Festival, which begins tomorrow.

Her latest film, "Ghost Town," is scheduled to premiere there.

But as you all know by now, Tea's hubby David Duchovny is in a rehab facility for sex addiction.

So you know if she shows up anywhere every question would be about her man and his problem.

Reports are Mr. Duchovny was not unfaithful to his wife in the traditional sense but got a little too caught up in the Internet.

Since we're talking about a certain subject, let's ride this train a little longer and let you know that Josh Hartnett and an unnamed female friend unknowingly made their own little sex tape, reports Britian's The Daily Mirror.

Seems the couple went to a secluded library at the SoHo Hotel and began doing what folks do. What they didn't know is that there were security cameras in the library and hotel staff was getting quite an eyeful.

Hello!

You were in a hotel, Josh, and unnamed female friend. We're 99.9 percent sure he could spring for a room.

Let's just stay on that side of the pond and tell you that on top of all her other issues, Amy Winehouse may be suffering from brain damage.

The UK's Daily Mail reports that doctors fear that the overdose the troubled singer suffered in July has left her permanently disabled.

That's not hard to believe given how many drugs girlfriend has reportedly done.

Lord knows she's a hot mess times two and that could be the reason.

It's truly going to take some divine intervention to get her right again, so keep sending up those prayers for this problem child.

OK, let's just make it a British trifecta by letting you know that Harry Potter whiz kid Daniel Radcliffe, his big baby blues and his choppy brown 'do, grace the October cover of Details magazine.

Daniel, who sent the temperatures of little girls and we're sure several cougars soaring with his star/nude turn in the London production of "Equus," is bringing his chiseled little physique to Broadway.

He tells the mag that he's not like most youngsters his age.

"I don't pretend to do anything particularly wild. People talk about rebellion and they say, 'Where is the teenage angst?' But I say I try to do it simply by the choices I make in the work I do. I just like wrong-footing people. I write poetry and I love it. I like being different from most other people in my generation."

That's right, Daniel. Just do you, baby!

Well, Jerry Lewis has done it again.

The legendary funnyman's 43rd annual Labor Day Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy raised a record-breaking $65,031,393. That's a $1.2 million increase over last year's total.

How much of that came from local contributions? Well, during the WPXI portion of the telethon, $1,077,000 was raised. That's $63,000 more than last year.

We must say we are very impressed. We've been watching Jerry on Labor Day almost from the beginning. Remember, we said ALMOST.

He hasn't always been in the best of health lately and could have quit but he comes back year after year and the people who rely on the programs of the Muscular Dystrophy Association benefit.

Hats off to Jerry!
