Fawcett, general litigation; Alyson J. Kirleis, personal injury defense: medical malpractice; Christopher T. Lee, civil litigation defense; Robert J. Marino, personal injury defense: general; James R. Miller, civil litigation defense; Wilbur McCoy Otto, health care; John T. Pion, transportation/maritime; James D. Strader, workers' compensation; John Edward Wall and Nancy R. Winschel, civil litigation defense; and Steven W. Zoffer, business litigation. And James R. Miller, president, CEO and chairman of the board, also was recognized as one of the top 50 Pittsburgh Super Lawyers for receiving the highest point totals in the 2008 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers nomination, research and blue ribbon review process.

St. Clair Hospital earned national recognition for its Medical Reconciliation practices, the process of tracking patients' medications before, during and after hospitalization. The hospital was acknowledged by the Institute for HealthCare Improvement for a winning entry in the organizations' "5 Million Lives Campaign Innovation Challenge," a nationwide search seeking the most creative solutions to increase patient safety and transform the quality of hospital care. The IHI initiative aims to protect patients from the anticipated 5 million incidents of medical harm expected to occur in American hospitals over the two year period ending in 2008.

Allegheny Health Computer Services LLC and its owner Leslie Demmer-Heidenreich have been named McKesson Medisoft World Class Technician of the year.

Computer Enterprises Inc. was named to the 2008 VarBusiness 500 list by VarBusiness magazine as a leading revenue producer among solution provider organizations. CEI placed 469th on the 14th annual VARBusiness 500 list.

Sean R. Kocan, an auditor with Malin, Bergquist & Co. LLP, received designation as a certified fraud examiner.

David Capitano, principal in charge of Parente Randolph's Pittsburgh region, was accepted in the Leadership Pittsburgh Program. Mr. Capitano has 17 years of experience in auditing, accounting and consulting for financial institutions, higher education institutions and not-for-profit entities.

WQED's OnQ documentary "Alicia's Message: I'm Here to Save Your Life" was awarded a prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award for excellence in professional, independent and student works in filmmaking and videography.

Timothy A. Carfang, auditor, Malin, Bergquist & Co. LLP, received designation as a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania.

John R. O'Keefe Jr., a member of Metz Lewis LLC, was selected for inclusion in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers 2008 magazine as one of the top attorneys in Pennsylvania. Only 5 percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers. Mr. O'Keefe is where he concentrates his practice in the areas of secured lending, commercial loan documentation, banking, creditors' rights, workouts, bankruptcy, commercial and employment litigation, real estate and other business transactions.
