A White Plains, N.Y., man was killed yesterday when the car he was in struck a tractor-trailer headed east on Interstate 80 in Pine, Mercer County, according to state police.

Robert Kleinman, 57, was a passenger in a car driven by Dyan Kleinman, 24, of White Plains, who lost control of the vehicle while heading west, crossed the median strip and struck the truck.

Police said Mr. Kleinman was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt, as was Ms. Kleinman, who suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
