School: Thomas Jefferson

Position: TE/DE

Height: 6-5

Weight: 225

THE SKINNY: A driving force behind Thomas Jefferson's 16-0 run to WPIAL and PIAA Class AAA titles as a junior last season, DeCicco is one of this senior class' top recruits.

COLLEGE TALK: Has narrowed his list down to four schools -- Pitt, Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa.

WHY IS THOMAS JEFFERSON SO GOOD YEAR AFTER YEAR? I think it all comes down to being prepared and because of how hard coach (Bill) Cherpak works us in our summer workouts.

FINISH THIS SENTENCE -- RECRUITING IS ...? Very time-consuming. I wouldn't say annoying, but just kind of a big hassle.

PERSON YOU'D MOST LIKE TO MEET AND WHY? Probably the tight end from Miami who now plays for the (Chicago) Bears, Greg Olsen. I like how he plays and I'd like my game to be like his. I think I could learn a lot from him.

THE BEST ATHLETE YOU HAVE EVER COMPETED AGAINST? My older brothers [Dom and Zach]. Just because of how competitive they are and they never let me win. I think that has helped me so much. Even when I was a little kid and they were older, they never just let me win, they never went easy on me.

IN 20 YEARS, WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT WINNING THE PIAA TITLE, THE FIRST THING THAT YOU'LL REMEMBER IS ...? Probably just holding up that trophy. It was a moment when I felt like everything was worth it. All the practice, all the camp and all the hard work. I thought about it when I was holding up the trophy.
