City Planning staff has informed Pittsburgh City Council that a long-awaited hearing on a Downtown billboard permit will likely be postponed from Thursday to Sept. 4, at the request of attorneys for Lamar Advertising.
Lamar is seeking a permit for a 1,200-square-foot electronic billboard on the front of the Grant Street Transportation Center. A permit granted in December without public hearings or votes was revoked following a protest appeal by five council members and a lawsuit by Lamar against the members.
