11 a.m. to noon -- Andrea Curry-Demus visits her husband, Raymond Demus, in the Allegheny County Jail
12:18 p.m. -- Jail cameras show Ms. Curry-Demus chatting with Kia Johnson in the waiting room
12:45-1:45 -- Kia Johnson visits Terrell Barnes at Allegheny County Jail
Evening hours -- Ms. Curry-Demus claims a dark-skinned pregnant black woman was delivered to her apartment at 493 Ella St. by two individuals; she says the woman slept over at her apartment. She says she had never met the pregnant woman before.
Wednesday, July 16
Early morning hours -- Brooke Curry, Mr. Curry-Demus' sister, says she was in Ms. Curry-Demus' apartment at 493 Ella on two occasions. She says she didn't see the two individuals implicated by Ms. Curry-Demus and that she only saw her sister in the apartment. She says the first time she was there Ms. Curry-Demus repeatedly went into her bedroom and closed the door. On the second occasion Mr. Curry presented her with a baby she claimed to have just delivered.
Morning -- Ms. Curry-Demus says that the baby was removed from the pregnant woman and given to her. She says she took the baby to her sister's apartment at 495 Ella and told her she'd just given birth. Her sister called 911.
10:45 a.m. -- Medics are called to 495 Ella. Ms. Curry-Demus claims she has just given birth to the baby boy, and she and the infant are taken to West Penn Hospital.
Thursday, July 17
1 p.m. -- West Penn Hospital contacts Pittsburgh police, saying that tests have determined that Ms. Curry-Demus' claim that she gave birth to the baby are false.
3:10 p.m. -- Wilkinsburg Police Department is contacted by Pittsburgh police. Wilkinsburg officer interviews Ms. Curry-Demus in hospital. She claims that she purchased the baby from a woman named "Tina." Ms. Curry-Demus is charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The child remains in the hospital while she is taken to Allegheny County Jail.
Evening -- Wilkinsburg police go to the 493-495 Ella apartment building. Brooke Curry takes them to an apartment she says belongs to her sister Andrea, but Police Chief Ophelia "Cookie" Coleman later says that it was not the right apartment.
Friday, July 18
Afternoon -- Wilkinsburg police return to Ella Street after reporters inform them of a foul odor emanating from the building. At 493 Ella, Apartment 3, the apartment of Ms. Curry-Demus, they find the body of a woman later identified as Kia Johnson. The hands and feet had been bound with duct tape and a plastic bag was duct-taped on the head. The victim's abdomen had been slashed and a placenta was recovered. The victim had been wrapped in a comforter and garbage bags.
Evening -- County homicide detectives were called in on the case. They interviewed Brooke Curry and Ms. Curry-Demus, who told them the story that two other people procured the pregnant woman and gave her the baby they took from her. Brooke Curry tells detectives she did not see others in her sister's apartment.
Saturday, July 19
9 a.m. -- The Allegheny County medical examiner's office performed an autopsy on the victim. The manner of death was ruled homicide; cause of death pending toxicology and histology exams.
Sunday, July 20
County police charge Ms. Curry-Demus with homicide, unlawful restraint and kidnapping.
